After 27 years of designing toys, I continue to look for ways to improve the effectiveness and safety in play for those of us into this sport.  For the longest time there’s been a marked absence of research into the sigmoid and lower intestines so we’ve been left to our own community to navigate what shapes would be most effective.  Recent research studies into how to automate a colonoscopy has been able to reveal some insights which I’ve been able to apply to the design of the Depth Probe v4.0.   These articles are referenced on the Intro page of my Heath and Safety articles HERE

Navigating the twists and turns has proven to be the largest obstacle they’ve encountered, that along with a realization that the lengths of the Sigmoid and varying sections of the large intestine can vary widely among individuals.  One of the take aways from my reading has uncovered a common practice when training technicians for getting through sharp bends.  They often refer to creating a hook, or bend in the tip of the scope, and then turning it one way or another.  The desired result being that the hook catches on the inside of the bend enabling one to move past it.

The Depth Probe v4.0 now comes with a slight hook at the end, the tip of which is placed slightly off center.  To provide some additional insight, the handle base is marked with a dimple on the side the tip points, which can be easily felt. The T-bar makes turning the probe easy with lubed hands.

Additionally, the Probes are no longer smooth.  Reverse angle ribbing allows one to better hold a grip, and makes itself felt more on the extraction than the insertion, when I appreciated it most  🙂

Necessity is the mother of invention.

As my journey into deeper exploration continues, I encounter more and more individuals either on the same path as me, or those that are curious about beginning to explore deeper territories of their own and seeking out shared experiences.

Extreme Sports like depth play require knowledge of the hazards and the proper tools in hand to help keep risks minimized.  SquarePeg’s introduction of SuperSoft as the material of choice for today’s toy makers has allowed us to have much better tools for depth exploration in the modern era. Yet even for the most experienced among us, deeper play through the Third Ring and into the Sigmoid has always been fraught with confusing internal signals and a lack of clear and concise medical information on the physiology of the area, so that playing deep has been something most of us have done on faith.

But times are changing, and new medical research in mapping out and describing the lower intestine in detail has been occurring in the field of colonoscopy. In an effort to automate the process, the information the medical establishment is revealing is benefiting my own play in new ways.  My Health and Safety pages have been updated to incorporate this new information, and references to the research articles cited are provided at the bottom of the Intro page.

In response to requests for BIGGER vaginal plugs, introducing the 3xl and 4xl sizes of Gsqueeze™

Before SquarePeg, all sounds were made in metal.  It was in 2000 SquarePegToys® was the first to develop the concept of a flexible sound made from silicone.  Originally inspired by a good friend of mine, Dan, who one day showed me his collection of jelly type fishing lures he was using for urethral play. Not knowing what they were made of and realizing they were most likely not sterile, I set myself on a quest to develop some type of safe silicone sounding toy. Silicone is suited very well for this type of toy play because it can be sterilized safely without compromising the material’s integrity.

I quickly learned that Dan wasn’t the only one that was looking for a safer flexible Sound option.  Thanks to all the feedback they were soon improved upon with tapered tips, an increased insertable length from 8” to a full 15”, and finer calibration.

Fast forward to today, there’s been another round of improvement in the design and functionality of the Sounds.  The most significant change is the addition of a plug near the handle end which provides one the ability to lock it in place when used in conjunction with a coronal ring.

Because these are all new sculpts of the Splitter, sizing does not perfectly align with the previous version. There’s a handy comparison chart on the Splitter 2.0 page to review if you’re wanting to upgrade from an original size you have.
