Fisting Primer

“I’m wanting to get into fisting and need some help getting there. What toys would you recommend?”

This is a question that comes up often enough that I’ve put this page together as a Fisting Primer. It is based on my own experiences and intended as a general guideline in the spirit of personal growth. As always, it is up to you to determine what is good for your own body and to take from this what you choose.

The Challenges

There is some work you can and should do on your own before attempting to take a fist for the first time. Multiple challenges must be overcome to make the experience enjoyable, if even possible, for you and your partner.

  1. Develop the ability to consciously relax inner sphincters.
  2. Get the body to accept the presence of a large mass in the rectum without spasming.
  3. Develop an ability to relax through deep breathing and focus, despite the intensity.

The Physiology

The biggest physical hurdle you will encounter is developing the ability to relax and open all layers of your sphincter simultaneously.

Huh? you say, isn’t my hole just my hole? Well, the one you can squeeze is the one most thought of as the sphincter. But inside there is a major ring, along with other layers of rings that extend inside your hole and form a kind of band. If you’re practicing with a fist sized plug and can take it easily, but you hit a road block when it comes to a real fist, this is most likely why. You’re not being forced to simultaneously work on the mental aspect of connecting with the inner sphincters to relax them as well as you do the outer one.

The Stretch

The Acorns were developed as a way to condition your mind to take a fist. The blunt shape forces open all of your sphincters simultaneously and then gently stretches them as you descend on the toy. The subtleness of the taper gives your mind the time to catch up to what’s happening and relax around it. So you’ll begin your mental training as well. This duality is what you will actually need when you try a fist.

As you begin to connect with your inner sphincters you’ll be able to sense when they tighten up and hopefully develop an ability to mentally relax them at will. The three Acorns act as a set to gradually open you up.

The Full Feeling

To help overcome that full feeling of a fist and begin training for retention of a large object, the Splitters are a good toy. They won’t go in without work but won’t pop out easily either. The high apex and long neck make them ideal for simulating how a fist feels resting inside.

Personal note: I use the XS Splitter to check my cleanout when I think I’m done. The mass of it stimulates movement if I’m not quite “ready”.

3-Stage Training

The Trainer was a toy I designed for myself back when I needed an all-in-one solution to my fisting training. Despite being one of the original 8 toys it still maintains its purpose even today.

The 3-stage design allows you to feel a sense of accomplishment everytime you progress over a hump. Fingers at the tip even poke just like real ones when you’re all the way down with the whole mass of the toy being equivalent to a medium fist.

Prostate Stimulation

Another way to train is to add prostate stimulation by way of an angled toy like the Uncut 7 so that the sexual aspect begins to be linked to the stretch feeling. Adding a sexual component can certainly help to keep the work going at times.
